On October 30th, Minister WAN Gang met with Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and Ms. Yee-Sin Wong, Chinese Affairs Director of HKU. They exchanged views on issues of common concerns including cooperation in scientific research.

WAN commented that HKU, with advanced S&T research and an excellent platform for exchange, is complementary to the mainland. Expressing his support to the academic interaction between graduates of the two regions, he hoped Hong Kong professors knew more about the mainland and Hong Kong universities actively participated in the development of mainland hi-tech zones.

Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui said HKU was ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the mainland, so as to boost scientific progress and talent training in both the mainland and Hong Kong.
