The implementation of Agricultural S&T Achievement Transfer Fund creates good social benefits. It has attracted and trained a large number of agricultural researchers and managers, enhanced the capability of research institutes, colleges and universities to serve “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, and made farmers better-equipped to absorb and apply new products and new technologies. Therefore, it has played an important role in creating employment, raising the labor competence and transferring surplus rural labor force.
According to the statistics from the approved projects of the previous five years, 9.7 million people were trained, among whom, 7949 obtained Master or Ph.D. degrees, and about 280,000 were employed.
