On December 5th of 2008, China-Germany Pure Electric Vehicle(EV) Technology Workshop was held in Shanghai, which was jointly sponsored by MOST and Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs of Germany (referred to as German Ministry of Transport) and organized by China Automotive Technology & Research Center and Shanghai Clean Energy Research & Industry Promotion Center. Representatives from MOST, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, German Ministry of Transport, German Consulate General in Shanghai addressed the Workshop. Scholars and researchers from more than 40 enterprises, research institutes and universities attended the Workshop, including Volkswagon, BMW, Bosch, FAW Group, Tianjin Qingyuan, Shanghai DAJUN Technologies, Shanghai Maple, Shanghai Power Grid, CNGC China North Vehicle Research Institute, China Electric Power Research Institute, Tongji University, Beijing Institute of Technology.
Discussions and communications revolved around national EV strategy, EV technological R&D, and infrastructure construction. Both sides expressed their willingness to expand cooperation in R&D of key spare parts for pure EV, infrastructure construction, government funding methods, the public response, etc..
