On December 28th of 2008, the inauguration ceremony of Beijing New Energy Automobile Design and Manufacturing Base was held in Beiqi Foton Moto Co. Ltd. MOST and Beijing Municipal Government jointly granted the company the plaque. Minister WAN Gang of Science and Technology and Mayor GUO Jinlong of Beijing attended the ceremony.
According to WAN, the current global economic crisis has exerted influence on China’s auto industry. The industry should attach more importance to restructuring and technological innovation to tackle the economic crisis. He also suggests that the industrial alliance of new energy vehicles is a solution that could promote cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutes.
