On January 5th of 2009, MOST held a meeting on tackling international financial crisis through S&T innovation. Vice Minister LI Xueyong of Science and Technology presided over the meeting and conveyed important instructions of the central leadership. Minister WAN Gang of MOST delivered a speech. Vice Chairman DENG Nan of China Association for Science and Technology, Vice Minister LIU Yanhua of MOST, Vice President SHI Erwei of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President WU Hequan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President HE Hongming of the National Natural Science Foundation, HU Yafeng, Party Member of State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and officials from the Ministry of Education made remarks at the meeting.
Participants offered constructive suggestions on mobilizing scientists to make innovation, so as to tackle the international financial crisis and achieve stable and fast economic progress in the future.
