MOF, MOST, NDRC and MIIT jointly hosted a meeting on demonstration and promotion of energy-saving and new energy vehicles in Beijing on February 17th of 2009.
In his remarks, Minister WAN Gang commented on the meeting as a significant milestone in developing energy-saving and new energy vehicles. He highlighted the following aspects:
1. Pilot cities shall make the most of the financial incentives to seriously organize demonstration and promotion;
2. Enterprises shall take responsibilities in industrialization, industrial chain and after-sale service;
3. Local S&T departments shall organize experts to carry out research and development;
4. Public education shall be improved.
