Minister WAN Gang of Science and Technology met with Todd Stern, US Special Envoy on Climate Change on February 22^nd, 2009. They exchanged views on closer cooperation in response to climate change and other common concerns.

As for potential cooperation fields raised by Stern, WAN suggested that equal and mutually beneficial S&T cooperation be carried out in following fields: clean coal including IGCC and carbon capturing and storage (CCS), solar PV cell, methane and other bio-energy, new energy vehicle and intelligent transport system, etc.
