On the morning of February 25th of 2009, ZHANG Laiwu, Vice-Minister of Science and Technology met with RI Kwang Ho, Director of Science and Education, central committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

ZHANG welcomed Director RI and his delegation. He said, the year 2009 is the 60th anniversary of China-DPRK Ties, and also the year of friendship. Over the 6 decades, the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples have been continuously consolidated and developed with joint efforts. China-DPRK S&T cooperation is an important component of friendly cooperation, contributing to the scientific and economic progress of the two countries.

Minister RI appreciated the hospitality of ZHANG. He highly appraised the S&T cooperation between China and Korea and emphasized the need of further cooperation and exchanges for greater progress in both countries’ S&T developments.
