Recently, Minister WAN Gang of Science and Technology held a seminar on deploying national S&T special projects in reaction to the global financial crisis. Vice Minister ZHANG Laiwu chaired the seminar. Directors and chief technicians of the management offices of eleven key special projects and officials from National Development and Reform Commission, MOST and Ministry of Finance participated in the seminar.

Minister WAN required that management be optimized and budgeting carefully completed to accelerate the implementation of the special projects. Besides, more efforts should be made in innovating methods and raising efficiency.
