On May 13th of 2009, Lord Leszek Borysiewicz, Chief Executive of the Medical Research Council (MRC) of UK visited China National Center for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD). Prof. WANG Hongguang, director of CNCBD exchanged opinions with the delegation on cooperation. Vice-Director JIA Feng welcomed the MRC delegation and introduced the functions of CNCBD. He elaborated on CNCBD’s role in management of S&T projects in the field of national biology and pharmaceutics, as well as the review procedure of projects and topics. He also suggested both parties should enhance exchanges and cooperation in building biological and pharmaceutical S&T platform and promoting mutual recognition of GCP and GLP between China and UK.

Both expressed the willingness to boost exchanges and cooperation based on previous results, and to promote substantive cooperation in the priority fields of common concern.
