On May 14th-15th of 2009, National Sustainable Communities Office held an expert committee meeting in Beijing. The meeting appointed new panel members and discussed the work of National Sustainable Communities. Vice-Minister LIU Yanhua addressed the event.
According to LIU, after the reshuffle, the expert committee will assume its role as a think-tank. The expert committee will deal with more entities, including related central and local governmental departments, research institutes, enterprises and public institutions. The experts will be involved more in substantive work, and play their role in regional development, and growth of enterprises.
