On July 3, Vice-Minister of MOST CAO Jianlin paid a visit to Prof. Zhou Guangzhao, the venerable head of the expert panel of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program).

On behalf of the Minister WAN Gang and the Party Committee Secretary Li Xueyong of MOST, CAO extended his warm greetings to Prof. Zhou. He then introduced the comprehensive assessment of 973 Program this year to Prof. Zhou, and discussed a range of issues with him, including the priorities of basic research during the 12th five-year period, the orientation for future development, and the improvement in management, etc.
