On June 23, Vice-Minister LIU Yanhua led a delegation from the Department of Rural Science and Technology and the Department of Facilities and Financial Support of MOST to study the research methodologies of agricultural sciences at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). The visiting group listened to the reports on the latest progress made in this regard, and also had in-depth discussions with the staff from CAAS on this topic.

LIU underlined the following guidelines for innovative research methodologies:

·Paying attention to the Three Levels: Scientific thinking, scientific methods, and scientific tools

·Targeting the Three Groups: Research institutions, enterprises, and universities

·Realizing the Three Innovations: Technological innovation, management innovation, and institutional innovation.
