The EU FP7 NCP and RCP Training Seminar was held by China-EU Science and Technology Cooperation Promotion Office (CECO) in Beijing from June 23rd to 25th, 2009. Representatives from provincial and municipal science and technology exchange centers of Shandong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shaanxi and Heilongjiang, from Peking University, Tsinghua University, China Agricultural University, Beijing Normal University and China Academy of Agricultural Sciences participated in the training seminar. During the training, Mr. Michele Genovese from DG Research of the European Commission and 6 European experts from Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), Italian Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE) and Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) made presentations on EU FP7’s structure, rules for the participation, project application and evaluation, financial and IPR issues, etc. Chinese attendees discussed with European experts on key problems encountered by Chinese researchers during their participation in FP7, like searching for European partners.
The training seminar mainly targeted at Chinese scientific research administrative staff, with the aim of helping them get an insight into EU FP7 so as to provide Chinese researchers with better service and guidance in the participation of EU FP7 and promote the scientific and technological cooperation under EU FP7. The training seminar made a great success and was widely praised by the attendees.
