The Ninth China-Japan-Korea Pan-Yellow Sea Economic and Technological  Conference was held in Yantai City, Shangdong Province from July 14 to July 16, 2009. The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and  Industry of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of South Korea. Participants came from government departments, research institutes, economic communities, enterprises, and universities in the three countries.

The Science and Technology Forum was introduced to the Conference for the first time with a theme to promote new green technologies and build a conservation-minded society. Meanwhile, a host of events were held, such as the Business Forum, Forum of University Presidents, Logistics Forum, and meetings for Director-Generals.
