The Fourth Chinese Medicinal Biotech Forum was held successfully from August 7 to August 9 in Dalian city. The Forum was co-sponsored by China Medicinal Biotech Association, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and Dalian Municipal Government, with the support from China National Center for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD) and Chinese Pharmaceutical Association of MOST. SANG Guowei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was present in the event and delivered a report titled Innovative Development Strategy and Important Measures for New Medicines in China. Director of CNCBD WANG Hongguang delivered another report: Comparisons of Chinese Medicinal Technology and Competitiveness with Other Countries.

During the forum, participants exchanged ideas on a series of issues, including biotech and medical science, fundamental medicinal policies and system in China, medicinal biotech and applicable technology, innovative research of new medicines, the integration of production, teaching and research, as well as the opportunities and challenges brought about by the international economic climate and its impact on China’s innovation and bio-medicine industry.
