Minister WAN Gang met with the Editor in Chief of Science Bruce Alberts on September 7 in Beijing.

WAN exchanged ideas on Sino-US cooperation on S&T with the Editor, briefing him of the preparatory work for the 13th Joint Committee Meeting in October, and the progress of the Sino-US Joint Research Center of Clean Energy. On top of that, WAN also introduced the launch of 10,000 clean energy vehicles in a dozen cities in China by MOST and the Ministry’s work in basic research.

Editor Alberts highly appreciated MOST’s commitments in promoting the research of clean energy, especially its achievements in the application of electrical vehicles, and expressed his willingness to help the S&T cooperation between China and the US. The two also approached the possibility and ways of exchanging scientists between the two countries.
