The 37th Industrial S&T Working Group Meeting (ISTWG) of APEC, sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation (DIC) of MOST, was held from September 24th to 25th, Suzhou. Altogether 76 representatives from 15 APEC member economies attended the meeting, including China, America, Russia, and Thailand, and Macao of China.

Counselor XU Hai from DIC, addressed the event on behalf of China. The meeting was centered around the current work assessment and future work reforms of ISTWG.

Two days prior to the event, the APEC Symposium on the Utilization and Protection of Water Resources of was also held in Suzhou. The symposium was organized by China Science and Technology Exchange Center and APEC (Suzhou) Technology Transfer Center. Almost a hundred experts, scholars and officials from 14 APEC member economies participated in the event.
