The Symposium on Smart Grid, organized by MOST, was held on September 27, Beijing. Nearly 20 experts from State Grid Corporation, South Grid Corporation, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, etc. participated in the discussion. Minister WAN Gang was present at the event and made important remarks. Those also present included Vice Minister DU Zhanyuan, who chaired the meeting, Deputy Secretary-General of MOST WANG Zhixue and people from the various departments and affiliated agencies of MOST.
Experts exchanged ideas on a range of issues, including the status quo and trend for smart grid development abroad; how to develop smart grid in China; how to promote the information, communications, computer and equipment manufacturing sectors by developing smart grid; and how can scientific advancement guide and support the development of smart grid.
