The 3rd Meeting of Mainland-Macao S&T Cooperation Committee (the Committee) was held in Beijing on November 2. Vice Minister of MOST CAO Jianlin and Director of Secretariat for Transport and Public Works of Macao SAR Government Lau Si Io addressed the event. Nearly 60 members of the Committee and representatives from relevant institutions attended the meeting.

Participants reviewed the S&T cooperation and exchanges between the Mainland and Macao since the 2nd meeting of the Committee. They also agreed to promote the participation of Macao research institutes and personnel in state major S&T programs, facilitate the building of state key laboratories in Macao, foster Portuguese-speaking S&T administrators through cooperation, build Guangdong-Macao regional innovation system, and carry out cooperation in TCM, energy conservation, environment protection, and electronic information. In one word, governments from both sides agreed to continue their support for S&T cooperation and exchanges between the Mainland and Macao.
