Minister WAN Gang met with the visiting President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Sadako Ogata on December 3rd, Beijing. Both sides exchanged ideas on promoting bilateral technical communication during the meeting.
WAN said that MOST was ready to join hands with JICA in developing new energies, protecting the environment, promoting people’s health and conserving energy and reducing emissions through technological cooperation and personnel exchange.
President Sadako Ogata made brief introductions on the principles and cooperation priorities in Official Development Assistance (ODA) to China since the founding of JICA. She stressed that technical cooperation through JICA underlined “addressing global environmental problems, supporting reforms and opening, and facilitating mutual understanding”. She also said that JICA was ready to closely work with its Chinese counterparts to promote cooperation between China and Japan.
