On December 13, the meeting on S&T Commissioners and the launching ceremony of rural S&T Start-up was held through video conference in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Vice Minister ZHANG Laiwu addressed the event.

ZHANG highly confirmed the efforts made by S&T commissioners in Xinjiang. He pointed out that emphasis should be given to the IT development in rural areas, which could enrich the local S&T services, and efforts should be made to help start-ups play a vital role in the building of a new socialist countryside.

Outstanding S&T commissioners and institutions were awarded during the meeting.
