The 7th Meeting of the general group for the Major New Medicine Project, presided over by Sang Guowei, chief technical officer, vice-chairman of NPC and academician of CAS, was held in Beijing on December 8. 21 experts from the project attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the recent progress of the project and planned for development in the next step. Through discussions, experts reached consensus in principle on the distribution and uses of the third-stage funding, and the guidelines on the signing of the contracts ratified in the previous two stages. Experts also exchanged ideas on the framework of carrying out the “12th Five-Year Plan”, guidelines of the expert panel for supervising and checking the progress of the ratified projects, and the management of the project.
