Advanced Training Program on Development of China and Neighboring Countries and Regions, organized by the Department of Policy, Regulations and Reform of MOST and the Department of Regional Economy of National Development and Reform Commission, was held in Tongji University on December 18.
The training program was held against the backdrop of the State Council’s concern about the regional science and technology cooperation in Great Mekong sub-regions, and its approval of the Beibu Gulf Development Plan and China Tumen Jiang Cooperation and Development Plan. It focuses on regional economic cooperation by incorporating regional economic development and cooperation, regional cooperation modes, industrial agglomeration, innovation-based cities, etc.
The program attracted 60 trainees from Jilin, Yunnan and Guangxi provinces, including 6 department leaders, 16 mayors and municipal Party chiefs.
