The Seminar on Strategic Planning of Manufacturing Information Engineering （MIE）in the 12th Five-Year Plan was recently held in Beijing. Centering on service and manufacturing applying cloud computing, participants discussed the development trend, priorities and policies of MIE during the 12th Five Years.

Prof. Yang Haicheng, head of the expert panel of the MIE Project in the 11th Five Years, gave a brief introduction to the planning for 2011-2015. It was agreed at the seminar that the government, enterprises and software developers should work together to realize synergy of experts, enterprises, and research subjects.
