On March 25, MOST Party Chief and Vice Minster LI Xueyong addressed the 10th S&T Development and Reform Report Meeting in Beijing.

Party Chief LI reviewed the science and technology work in 2009, analysed the current situation, future tasks and next-step plans for carrying out work. He fully recognized the contributions by research institutes to national innovation system and reform, and highlighted the importance to enhance innovation, deepen institutional reform. He also emphasized the importance to build up a human resources pool so that they can play an essential role in economic development, innovation and transformation of economic growth model.
