The 3rd MOST Work Conference on Qinghai Earthquake Relief, chaired by MOST Vice Minister DU Zhanyuan, was held on April 20. Centering on the post-disaster reconstruction in Qinghai, the conference decided to kick-start the demo project of Qinghai  Post-disaster Reconstruction through Science and Technology, which will incorporate housing, energy, agriculture and animal husbandry.

The conference also emphasized the following points: bringing into full play the role of the expert team; strengthening link with Qinghai Provincial Science and Technology Department, in order to put forward proposals according to the real needs of disaster-stricken areas; making detailed plans for the demo project; and improving information transfer to keep MOST leaders informed of the latest developments.
