Three fuel cell hybrid buses were accepted on April 27, Shanghai as the second phase of Commercialization of China Fuel Cell Buses, a demo program jointly supported by the Chinese Government, the Global Environment Facility, and the United Nations Development Program.
The power systems of the three buses were integrated by Shanghai Fuel Cell Vehicle Powertrain Corporation and Tongji University by utilizing the galvanic pile made by Ballard of Canada. So far six fuel cell hybrid buses, which were purchased to serve the Shanghai World Expo through international bidding, have all been accepted and put into operation in the Expo Park. The demonstration of these buses showcases “Better City, Better Life”, the theme of the Expo,helping realize zero emission within the park and low emissions around the park.
