An elementary school building was completed and unveiled on May 21 in Fudian Village of Henan Province. It was one of the projects financed by the Grassroots Grant Program of Japan. The total investment amounted to RMB 700,000 yuan, in which the Japanese side contributed 84,415 US Dollars. MOST made additional donation of teaching facilities that were worth RMB 300,000 yuan. Kokuyo Commerce (Shanghai) Co., Ltd also donated school supplies to the students.

Representatives from the Japanese Embassy, MOST, and Henan Provincial Government were present at the event. It is believed that the construction of the school building helps considerably improve teaching conditions in the village.
