The APEC meeting on Smart City and Intelligent Industry was held recently in Langfang, Hebei Province. Nearly 400 representatives from the 21 APEC member countries participated in the event.

The conference was focused on the building of future cities and enterprises which are characterized by sustainable development, environmental friendliness, low carbon, and harmony during the post-crisis time. Former US President George W. Bush also shared his thoughts with attendants through video conferencing. A proposal in this regard was announced after the meeting.

The conference was formerly known as APEC Summit Meeting of Entrepreneurs before February 22 of this year. It is the second APEC conference held by China after Shanghai APEC in 2001.
