The 4th Conference of the Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS) was unveiled on Jun. 27, Beijing. Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping addressed the opening ceremony. MOST Minister WAN Gang addressed the event on behalf of MOST.

The conference was co-sponsored by the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) and TWOWS. Leaders from MOST, China Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Engineering, China National Natural Science Foundation, All-China Women’s Federation, China Association for Science and Technology, and Beijing Municipal Government were present at the opening ceremony.
