The Department of Basic Research of MOST organized a Seminar on Global Change and Earth System Model on July 19 in Beijing to facilitate research in earth system model in China, improve global change simulation and prediction, and strengthen interaction among the global change programs.

Professor XU Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology of China, and scholars from Tokyo University, State University of New York at Stony Brook, US National Science Foundation, China Meteorological Administration, Tsinghua University, and Beijing Normal University were present at the seminar.
