On Aug. 10, Mr. Clovis Zapata from UNDP International Policy Center for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG, formerly known as the International Poverty Center) paid a visit to MOST.
Mr. Zapata’s visit was mainly to get to know the poverty reduction through science and technology support in China, the innovation for TTF policy in particular. MOST Department of Rural Science and Technology briefed Mr. Zapata on the Innovation in Poverty Reduction through Science and Technology in Rural China and Long-term Mechanism Exploration, which was co-launched by MOST and UNDP in September, 2006 and has already promoted rural economy and the reform for the application of agricultural technology.
ICP-IG was established by the Brazilian government, UNDP, and other international organizations, aiming to innovate ways for poverty reduction and facilitate policy shift. ICP-IG has already developed into a significant platform for the applied research exchange in South-South Cooperation and the center for policy development.
