The 5th Sino-Switzerland Science and Technology JCM was held on Sept. 10 of 2010 in Beijing. This event took place at the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Switzerland. Officials from MOST and Swiss Secretariat for Education and Research reviewed cooperation in global issues like energy, resources, environment, the recent financial crisis, and introduced to each other the latest development of science and technology in their own countries.

Representatives from both Chinese and Swiss research institutes and governmental branches were present at the event, coming from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Tsinghua University, Peking University; Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), University of Zurich, Swiss National Science Foundation, Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency, the Swiss Embassy in China and so on.
