The 6th China-ASEAN Joint Committee Meeting was held on Sep. 15 of 2010 in Suzhou. Representatives from MOST Department of International Cooperation, Suzhou Municipal S&T Bureau, ASEAN Secretariat, and 10 ASEAN member countries were present at the event.

Participants agreed that with the establishment of a China-ASEAN free trade zone, cooperation between China and ASEAN is becoming more and more important; and it was necessary to further expand support channels for relevant projects with the help of good mechanisms. Besides, participants also exchanged ideas about modifying China-ASEAN S&T Cooperation Agreement and improving the JCM mechanisms.
