2nd Roundtable on EVI Held in Shenzhen

The 2nd Roundtable on Electric Vehicle Initiative (EVI), which is under the framework of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) meeting, was held in Shenzhen on Nov. 7 of 2010 during the 25th World Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS25). Representatives from China, the US, Japan, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, and the International Energy Agency (IEA) were present at the event.

 

The meeting discussed the implementation plans of EVI, including EV demonstration cities, information sharing of public R&D investment of innovative EV, and policies for EV. Chinese representatives introduced the plans of China (Shanghai) International Demo City of EV, which is to be launched in the Jiading District of Shanghai. Portugal, a new member to EVI, provided updates on its EV development and polices.

 

CEM was first held in Washington from Jul. 19 to 20, 2010. 11 cooperation initiatives were ratified during that event, including the EVI which was initiated by China, United States, and the IEA, and participated by France, Germany, Japan, Spain, South Africa, and Sweden.
