The High-level Meeting of International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN) was held in the Republic of Korea from Nov. 8 to 9,2010. Officials from China, the US, Japan, ROK, Sweden and the International Energy Agency (IEA), etc. were present at the event. As one of the five joint actions affirmed during the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) meeting for 22 Countries held in July in Washington, this meeting discussed four topics: benefit analysis on smart grid, project catalogue, information sharing, and case studies. A draft report on the four topics was submitted to the 2nd CEM scheduled next April in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The meeting also agreed to establish an ISGAN cooperation framework as an implementing agreement of the IEA. It also recognized the ROK as the first secretariat country of ISGAN. Officials from the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of MOST were present at the meeting.
