Dr. WAN Gang, Minister of Science and Technology, met with Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on Nov. 19, 2010. WAN briefed on the IPR work of China during the 11th Five Year Plan period, and expected further progress in IP protection during the 12th Five Year Plan. The Minister also introduced the Information System of Agricultural Experts developed by the Ministry to help farmers use and protect intellectual properties.
After the meeting, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in personnel training, themed seminars, and research projects in the next five years.
