The 3rd China-EU High Level Economic and Trade Dialogue was held in Beijing on Dec. 21，2010. Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, and Joaquín Almunia,Vice-President of the European Commission jointly presided over the event. MOST Vice Minister WANG Weizhong made a keynote speech on open cooperation in science and technology innovation for both China and the EU.
WANG pointed out that China highly values the cooperation in S&T innovation with other countries in the world, and is always committed to improving a pro-innovation environment. China would continue to deepen the all-round cooperation with the EU in promoting business-academic-research collaboration, and building long-term platforms for cooperation in renewable energy, smart grid, electric vehicles and other low-carbon technologies. China and the EU will jointly implement major projects in prioritized areas such as the environment, bio-medicine, information and communication technology, and accelerate the creation and commercialization of research findings so as to stimulate growth for both China and the EU.
