The 13th Fair of Overseas Chinese S&T Professionals, also known as the Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science & Technology, was held in Guangzhou on December 20, 2010.

The Fair is currently the largest of its kind developed by the Chinese government to attract overseas scholars. This year’s Fair consists of a workshop of outstanding oversea young scholars, a forum on building an innovation base for sophisticated overseas professionals, the “Chunhui Cup” Competition of innovation and start-up plans, award ceremony and project matchmaking, etc. Over 2,000 overseas scholars and 300 plus delegationsall over China participated in the Fair.

Wang Weizhong, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, addressed the opening ceremony. He briefed participants on China’s policies to introduce overseas professionals and the “1,000-Elite Program” formulated by the government to introduce seasoned overseas professionals.
