Minister WAN Gang addressed the press conference on National Major Science and Technology Achievements during the “11th Five-Year Plan” Period at China National Convention Center on March 9. The event was chaired by Vice Minister ZHANG Laiwu.

China witnessed rapid S&T development in the last five years, with dramatically increased innovation capacity and a large number of internationally influential achievements. The S&T progress has strongly pillared economic and social development and greatly boosted national confidence.

At the conference, MOST officials answered questions raised by the media. Three promotion sub-sessions were also held to promote achievements in energy conservation and emissions reduction, agricultural S&T, and biomedical science.
