Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang met with the delegation of Securing America's Future Energy (SAFE) led by Admiral Dennis C. Blair, Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Pacific Command, and Samuel W. Bodman, former U.S. Secretary of Energy, on March 16, 2011.

Minister Wan briefed the guests on the R&D, demonstration and application of new energy vehicles in China. The two sides exchanged views on promoting cooperation in electric vehicles, clean coal and other fields.
