Minister Wan Gang received Dr. Nick Smith, New Zealand Minister for the Environment and his delegation at the headquarters of MOST on April 27, 2011.

Wan briefed them on water resource utilization and pollution treatment in China, as well as the development of clean energy vehicles. Both sides exchanged opinions on collaboration in water pollution control, clean energy, electric cars, earthquake recovery and reconstruction.
