Vice Minister Cao Jianlin hosted a dinner for Prof. Romain Murenze, the newly posted executive director of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) at MOST headquarters on July 21st.
TWAS was founded in 1983 by Prof. Abdus Salam, the late Pakistani physicist and Nobel laureate in physics. Based in Trieste, Italy, it aims to promote south-south and north-south S&T exchanges and collaboration, as well as the scientific development of third world countries.
In the meeting, Cao and Murenze shared their opinions on training senior professionals for African development and fostering China-Africa partnership.
