The Chinese delegation, headed by MOST and China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), will attend the 4th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Youth Science Festival (AYSF) in Thailand between August 20th to 26th. The delegation include teachers and students from Beijing, Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, Yushu County of Qinghai Province and Zhouqu County of Gansu Province. The Chinese participants will build up friendship with the youth from APEC member economies, draw upon good practices in science popularization and education, and showcase China's achievements in these areas.
This year's AYSF is jointly held by Thailand Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, theming as "From Nature to Technology". The event will create an international network for bright young scientists from APEC member economies, help the youth understand the importance of science and technology and its impact on environment, and promote human resource development and S&T capacity building among APEC member economies.
