Vice Minister Cao Jianlin met with Martin Donnelly, the Permanent Secretary for UK Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) on September 19th. The two sides exchanged ideas on implementing the consensus reached at the 6th Sino-British S&T Joint Committee Meeting and enhancing future S&T exchange and cooperation.
VM Cao welcomed Mr. Donnelly and briefed him on China's S&T development in recent years. To implement the consensus reached at the Joint Committee Meeting, Cao also encouraged bilateral cooperation on translating regional research outcomes, implementing cooperative projects in priority areas, drafting innovation policies and carrying out strategic research.
Donnelly expressed his gratitude for Cao's reception and the willingness to develop a long-term and sustainable partnership with China, build joint research centers, and enhance cooperation on the establishment of British Technology and Innovation Center.
