The launching ceremony of the Sino-German Innovation Platform & the 1st Sino-German Innovation Conference were held in Beijing on September 20th and 21st. Minister Wan Gang and Dr. Georg Schütte, State Secretary of German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), attended the opening ceremony and inaugurated the platform.

The platform, as one of the major S&T achievements in the Sino-German intergovernmental consultation, will be a long-term mechanism for innovation dialogue between the two countries and the guidance for bilateral sci-tech innovation cooperation. Based on the Sino-German Innovation Conference, the platform will attract more governmental agencies, enterprises and research institutes, and provide policy support for the development and reform of innovation system and the building of innovation-oriented country in the two countries.
