The 5th Meeting of Mainland-Macao S&T Cooperation Committee (Committee) was held in Xi'an on September 16th. Vice Minister Cao Jianlin and Mr. Lau Si lo, Secretary for Transport and Public Works of the Macao SAR Government addressed the event.

VM Cao stressed that with the 12th Five-year Plan on National S&T Development (Plan) having been issued, the S&T cooperation between the Mainland and Macao should focus on the national S&T strategic plan, and make full use of complementary strengths to contribute to the national S&T progress and socioeconomic progress. Secretary Lau said that Macao would fully endorse the Plan, help build up an innovative country, and realize Macao's long-term prosperity and stability.

The representatives of both sides listened to the Committee's annual report (2010-2011) and briefing on each field, approved the plan and identified the priorities for the next year.
