The 6th meeting of Mainland-Hong Kong S&T cooperation committee was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on August 30th.

Vice Minister Cao Jianlin said that the S&T cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong has witnessed great progress in the past year. Based on the National S&T Development Plan for the 12th Five-year period, MOST will comprehensively enhance multi-level cooperation with Hong Kong. He stressed that  the national R&D programs will be open to Hong Kong's science community, so as to better integrate Hong Kong into the national innovation system. The cooperation in basic research and industrial technology will also be increased to complement each other.

In the meeting, the two sides approved the annual report (2010-2011) and the plan (2011-2012), and identified the priorities for the next year.
