Minister Wan Gang received a biomedical technology delegation led by US Under Secretary of Commerce Francisco Sanchez on October 14th. Both sides exchanged opinions on enhancing R&D cooperation in biomedicine.

Wan briefed the American delegation on China-US S&T cooperation and China's 12th Five-year Plan on S&T Development, particularly in the sector of biomedicine. He encouraged the American side to cooperate with Chinese enterprises, universities and research institutes on joint research and commercialization so as to benefit people in the two countries and across the world. Sanchez expressed the willingness to work with China on S&T innovation under the mechanism of China-US Joint Commission Meeting on S&T Cooperation and Innovation Dialogue to spur the bilateral relation and economic and trade exchanges.
